News & Events
Hey there friends,
I hope everyone is well. I've been in Nashville coming up on seven years and still having a blast here! Here's just a little news about whats been going on lately. I'm very excited about some new projects in the works as well as some already coming to fruition. I have recently formed a band with John Randal, Jessi Alexander, Mike Bub, Larry Atamanuik & Jimmy Wallace. No band name yet, but in the works. We are looking forward to doing some playing in town and doing some road stuff and eventually a record. We are keeping it kinda stripped down acoustic but with electric guitar and keyboard. Great vocals and a range of music styles makes this a slamming group with endless possibilities. Catch our debut at the Station Inn on April 29th 9pm. Stay tuned for more on that.
I have also been doing some playing with the great jamgrass band Dread Clampitt from close to where I'm from on the Gulf Coast of Florida/ Alabama. We have been playing at the Red Bar in Grayton Beach (see calendar/apperances) as well as Stinky's, Florabama and Suwannee Springfest in Live Oak, FL. Balder Saunders, Kyle Ogle, Kenny Oliverio & John Reinlle make up this jamgrass group. It has also been my plaeasure to meet and play with Duke Bardwell. A classic southern gentleman and character who played bass with Elvis in the mid 70's.
This has been so much fun and some great hangs! More gigs and some recording to continue with this project as well.
Another band I've been playing in is Captains of Industry from the Mobile, AL area. My old friend Chris Spies leads this group into jazz/funk/improv territory. We did the Keel Family Function a few weeks ago with great results. I will be doing Swamp meet 3 with them and others coming up this weekend. As well as reuniting with old Filthy Rich bandmate Nich Branch at Pirates Cove for a afternoon blowout on sat the 18th. These shows kinda revolve around the 3 day Widespread Panic shows at the Warf in Orange Beach, AL. Then off to Destin for more Dread Clampitt fun!!
I have joined up recently with Hal Ketchum & Jim Rooney for some writing and will be doing some touring with Hal as a duo and some band stuff. More on that soon.
Also, I will be making a strong effort to put out more original music myself with a solo recording project. I PROMISE this is going to happend folks!!! More web updates coming soon too! Thanks to Jonathan Hobson.
Hope to see you all soon!
